EVGA, a well-known maker of graphics cards from the U.S. , announced Friday its new NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GTX-based graphics cards with water cooling system called Black Pearl. The new products are set to offer “twenty times” better cooling and, possibly, higher overclocking potential.

“EVGA BlackPearl water cooling solution is up to 20 times more efficient and almost silent. The advantages of the EVGA BlackPearl water cooling solution are increased 3D performance with higher clock speeds and quiet operation targeting the 3D enthusiasts as well as professionals seeking a noiseless solution for their work place,” said Hans-Wolfram Tismer, managing director of EVGA’s European subsidiary.

The EVGA BlackPearl water cooling solution is based on a design of Eheim aquarium water pump, designed by Innovatek, with an average life of 10 years, according to EVGA. The devices feature a 400W radiator along with 12cm low-noise fan.

EVGA said that the new BlackPearl cooling system featuring graphics cards would be EVGA e-GeForce 7800 GTX KO “BlackPearl” with 256MB of GDDR3 memory. The mentioned graphics board features the GeForce 7800 GTX graphics processing unit (GPU) clocked at 490MHz (up from 430MHz) and memory speed at 1300MHz (up from 1200MHz).

The EVGA e-GeForce 7800 GTX KO “Black Pearl” with 256MB will be priced at a recommended retail price of $1076 (Euro 899) in Europe, the firm indicated. Pricing for the U.S., as well as whether the part will be supplied to the country at all, is unknown.

1.
€899 = 1,085.58 USD

Then you could buy the 7800GT dual card for about $1000

or

2 of BFG GeForce 7800 GT OC 256MB for about $670.
