EVGA Releases World’s Fastest Graphics Card.EVGA Announces Another “Black Pearl” BoardCategory: Video by Anton Shilov [ 11/22/2005 | 09:25 PM ]
EVGA, a maker of high-performance graphics cards, announced a graphics card that has all the chances to be called “the world’s fastest” due to its increased clock-rates and possibly additional overclocking potential thanks to water cooling.
EVGA e-GeForce 7800 GTX BlackPearl 512MB graphics card is based on the GeForce 7800 GTX 512 graphics processing unit (GPU), but operates at higher clock-speed compared to reference design. Particularly, the board clocks GPU at 600MHz, up from 550MHz on the reference, and GDDR3 memory at 1800MHz, up from 1700MHz set by default. The high clock-speeds are conditioned by water-based cooling solution. “The advantages of the EVGA BlackPearl water cooling solution are increased 3D performance at higher clock speeds and quiet operation targeting the 3D enthusiasts as well as professionals seeking a noiseless solution for their work place,” said Andrew Han, chief executive of EVGA. The EVGA BlackPearl water cooling solution is based on a design of Eheim aquarium water pump, developed by Innovatek, with an average life of 10 years, according to EVGA. The devices feature a 400W radiator along with 12cm low-noise fan. The manufacture said that the new graphics card is currently shipping to retailers and online stores, but did not indicate pricing. Earlier this year EVGA already unveiled e-GeForce 7800 GTX BlackPearl 256MB with increase clock-speeds. The part was priced at a recommended retail price of $1076 (€899) in Related news
