In a bid to differentiate its products from other suppliers, Gainward is planning to unveil a pre-overclocked graphics card powered by a GeForce 8800-series graphics processor. The new product should deliver slightly higher performance compared to other graphics boards powered by the chip.

Gainward’s Bliss GeForce 8800 GTS Golden Sample graphics card will with its clock-speeds boosted up from standard 500MHz/1600MHz (graphics chip/memory) to 550MHz/1760MHz or even higher. The new graphics board will operate at similar frequencies compared to previously announced XXX Edition of XFX GeForce 8800 GTS.

Earlier OCZ Technology and XFX revealed plans to produce pre-overclocked GeForce 8800-series graphics cards, a type of products not presently available.

Currently Nvidia’s add-in-card partners sell GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB (575MHz clock-speed, 128 stream processors at 1350MHz , 32 texture mapping units, 24 raster operation units, 384-bit memory bus) and GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB (500MHz clock-speed, 96 stream processors at 1200MHz , 24 texture mapping units, 20 raster operation units, 320-bit memory bus) graphics cards for $599 and $449 recommended price-points.

Prices of the pre-overclocked GeForce 8800 GTS graphics boards from Gainward is unclear.

To differentiate themselves from others, the brand-name resellers need to either add items into the package with graphics cards, or ensure that the boards work at higher speeds compared to the rivals. Unfortunately for graphics cards suppliers, according to industry rumours, Nvidia did not let its partners to pre-overclock the GeForce 8800-series graphics cards that are produced under supervision of the graphics chip designer.
