One of Nvidia’s major graphics card partners, XFX Company, has introduced a new pricing structure for select products in its high performance line of GeForce 8800 GT and GeForce 8800 GS graphic cards, and its newly released next-generation GeForce 9600 GT.

Effective immediately, the new pricing is targeted to compete aggressively against similarly priced ATI 3870 and 3850 products in the $149 to $279 range. Select e-tailers will offer several XFX GeForce 8800 GT models from $189 to $209 (after mail-in rebate). The XFX GeForce 9600 GT models are now available from $149 to $179 (after mail-in rebate). The XFX GeForce 8800 GS will be offered from $119 to $139 (after mail-in rebate).

These rebates are currently being offered by New Egg and Tiger Direct. More online retailers will probably be offering these mail-in rebates soon.

Other manufacturers are very likely to join XFX in the near future. Especially since the discounts are determined by the upcoming launch of the new GeForce 9800 graphics card family that are very likely to attract the users’ attention immediately.
