Although some vendors in Europe and the USA promised to deliver the first batch of the GeForce FX-based graphics cards by the end of this month (see this news-story, for instance), it now appears that they will not be able to make it before the official timeframe NVIDIA declared back in November (see this news-story).

According to the online store we mentioned in this news-story, the first graphics cards on the latest VPU from NVIDIA will appear only in late February or even early March. The Club3D graphics card is equipped with D-Sub, DVI-I and TV-Out connectors. It features 256MB of DDR-II SDRAM and the GeForce FX 5800 Ultra VPU running probably at 1000/500MHz respectively. Currently the product is priced at 692 Euro.

The information about later GeForce FX launch was confirmed by a source inside the distribution channel, though, all the vendors currently make their best to get the graphics cards as soon as possible.

Our sources at NVIDIA indicated that the company experienced the low yields with their 500MHz GeForce FX chips. Later than expected roll-out may be conditioned by either very low yields and inability to deliver significant amount of processors, or certain changes in the design of the VPU being made in order to improve the yields.
