Jon Peddie Research brought additional information about the market of PC graphics devices supplied in the fourth quarter 2002. In general, previous details they published as well as our comments are fully correct both in terms of figures, as well as market trends. The only additional details we learned are the market share figures for minor players, such as SiS, VIA, 3Dlabs, Matrox Graphics and some others.

As you can see, VIA/S3 and SiS can boast with total market share equal to the share of ATI Technologies. VIA Technologies ships quite a lot of chipsets with integrated graphics cores for mobile computers as well as mobile graphics chips, while SiS is the number one PC graphics supplier in China. Both 3Dlabs and Matrox Graphics occupy their professional markets only and there are no chances for them to expand their shares until they start to sell something for consumers as well.

Read more about PC graphics shipments in our previous news-story on the matter: Graphics Solutions Market in Q4 2002.
