NVIDIA Launches Its GeForce FX 5900 GPU Officially.

The world did not change once again when NVIDIA announced its highly-anticipated GeForce FX 5900-series of graphic processors today. The world also remained exactly the same when ATI Technologies unleashed its code-named R350 graphics product some time ago, and even when NVIDIA paper-launched its highly-acclaimed GeForce FX 5800 aka NV30 graphics chip in November.

As we already said back on Thursday, the NV35 GPU is nothing more but a nicely upgraded and improved incarnation of the NV30 graphics processor with 256-bit memory controller, improved floating-point calculations and several other enhancements. As always, NVIDIA will offer a number of graphics solutions based on its flagship technology. There will be three different types of graphics cards coming out from NVIDIA’s AIB partners this Summer based on the GeForce FX 5900 processor:

• GeForce FX 5900 Ultra: NVIDIA NV35 GPU clocked at 450MHz and 256MB of DDR SDRAM clocked at 850MHz and utilizing 256-bit bus. All graphics cards will be equipped with DVI-I, D-Sub and VIVO connectors. The ESP for the part is 499 Euros or Dollars, expected time of availability if June.
• GeForce FX 5900: NVIDIA NV35 GPU and 128MB of DDR SDRAM utilizing 256-bit bus. Lower GPU and memory frequencies. All graphics cards will be equipped with DVI-I, D-Sub and TV-Out connectors. The ESP for the part is 399 Euros or Dollars, expected time of availability if June.
• GeForce FX 5900 Value: NVIDIA NV35 GPU and 128MB of DDR SDRAM utilizing 256-bit bus. Lower GPU and memory clocks. All graphics cards will be equipped with DVI-I, D-Sub and TV-Out connectors. The ESP for the part is 299 Euros or Dollars, expected time of availability if June.

Add-in card partners who will supply graphics cards based on the NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra GPU include: AOpen, ASUS Computer International, BFG Technologies, Creative Labs, eVGA.com Corporation, Gainward, Leadtek Research, MSI, PNY Technologies and Terratec. In addition to the support of numerous industry leading retail graphics card suppliers, more than 50 of the top PC OEMs and system builder partners will supply systems featuring GeForce FX 5900-based graphics cards.
