Not a lot of us thought in late 2000 that collaboration between Appian and ATI Technologies will result in Appian’s massive adoption of ATI RADEON VE aka RADEON 7000 graphics chip, but this is the reality now – currently Appian only sells graphics cards based on the mentioned chips.
<%BANNER[article]%>In fact, we could guess about Appian moving to graphics chips from ATI already in 2000, since Permedia, S3 Savage/MX and Appian AGX graphics processors seemed to be outdated already then, while ATI and Appian announced their collaboration. As a result, ATI licensed Appian’s HYDRAVISION technology and later allowed the company to launch its own Hurricane graphics card based on ATI RADEON VE chip in 2001.

All the other products based on different graphics processors are now moved to “Legacy Products” section.
I wonder when Appian adopts something more powerful, for instance, ATI RADEON 7500 or 9000 graphics processors?
