XGI Technology Inc. will not use SiS’ Xabre brand-name with its graphics processors, the company said today. The subsidiary of SiS will try to offer something new both in terms of brands and technologies, we may recognize.
<%BANNER[article]%>The name XGI was originated from eXtreme Graphics Innovation, even though eXtreme Graphics Innovation is not the actual company name and we should call the startup as XGI Technology Inc..
Xabre is a brand-name belonging to SiS, XGI does not have any rights to use the name and would not use it in its first generation products, a representative from the company said today. We were wrong in claiming that Xabre II is the actual name for the XGI’s GPUs, however, the architecture of the forthcoming graphics processors seems to be inherited from SiS Xabre/Xabre II projects
Expect XGI to unveil its first ever graphics chips family in September.
