EVGA e-GeForce 6800 GT with 512MB of GDDR3 memory is equipped with NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT graphics processing unit (GPU) that features 16 pixel, 6 vertex pipelines and works at 350MHz. Onboard memory should function at 1000MHz, according to the GeForce 6800 GT specifications. The graphics card is also equipped with single dual-link TMDS connector that allows to support wide-aspect ratio LCD monitors such as the Apple 30” Cinema Displays.

Graphics cards with 512MB of onboard memory earned ambiguous rates from reviewers. Up to now there have been two models aimed at gamers: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra 512MB as well as ATI RADEON X800 XL 512MB, which either demonstrated insignificant performance boost in very limited amount of games, or did not showcase any advantages of larger frame-buffer. While some games in future may require 512MB of onboard memory, current generation of GPUs may not provide enough performance for them.

EVGA’s e-GeForce 6800 GT with 512MB of GDDR3 memory will be available at $379.99, which is much lower compared to the price of the RADEON X800 XL 512MB that has manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) of $449. Generally the GeForce 6800 GT achieves higher scores in benchmarks compared to the RADEON X800 XL.
