ATI Technologies announced that the RADEON 9000 PRO MAC EDITION is now available in retail worldwide. Now Mac users are able to buy this graphics card (that has been available in Apple's Power Mac G4 for months) separately.

One of the special features of the RADEON 9000 PRO MAC EDITION is its ability to support two independent digital flat panels simultaneously, including Apple Cinema HD Displays at resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 (a TMDS transmitter from Silicon Image is installed on the PCB). The graphics card includes one ADC connector, one DVI connector and one DVI to VGA adapter and is capable of driving dual CRTs, dual flat panels or combinations of each with the appropriate adapters.<%BANNER[article]%>

What is very interesting, RADEON 9000 PRO MAC EDITION is equipped with passive cooling solution only: no fans and no specially designed systems. See the picture of the graphics card here. ATI also does not declare the core and memory clock speeds of the novelty.

All IBM PC-compatible RADEON 9000 PRO graphics cards are equipped with cooling fans, while RADEON 9000 powered solutions do not require active cooling systems. RADEON 9000 PRO runs at 275/275MHz for core and memory; in contrast, RADEON 9000 works at 250/400MHz for GPU and DDR SDRAM.

ATI's RADEON 9000 PRO MAC EDITION with 64MB of onboard memory has a suggested retail price of $169.99 and is available at ATI’s online store and in retail channels worldwide.
