Data Disasters Can Be Funny - Ontrack. Top 10 Ways of Losing Your HDD Data

As the end of the year approaches, companies begin to publish reports which highlight different milestones achieved this year.

Ontrack Data Recovery has announced 2005 top ten chart of strangest and funniest data disasters that they had come across. Although some cases included extreme destruction for hard disk drives (HDD) the company eventually managed to restore data.

“Ontrack Data Recovery receives more than 100 000 requests for data recovery service every year so we come across some pretty strange data disasters. Although the examples in this year’s list are pretty extreme, they illustrate a very important point – data recovery is possible, even in cases where it seems impossible,” said Jim Reinert, senior director of Software and Services for Ontrack Data Recovery.
