Patriot’s 400MHz DDR Memory Overclocked to 600MHz. PDP Systems Patriot Dual Channel PC3200 XBLK Reviewed

9:29 am | Anton Shilov

Everybody knows such highly-recognized brands as Corsair Memory, Crucial Technology, GEIL, Kingston and OCZ Technology Group. PDP Systems Inc. has been around for almost 20 years, but is not recognized by enthusiasts that well these days. However, everything may change, as the company’s products sold under Patriot brand-name not only offer great specifications, but provide exceptional overclockability, as it turns out.

OcPrices has taken a look at PDP Systems Patriot PC3200 XBLK memory module kit. The kit is certified to operate at 400MHz speed and boasts with standard aggressive timings of CL2 2-2-5. The product is aimed directly at computer enthusiasts and provides impressive overclockability

“To find the sticks maximum speed, we took an OCZ DDR booster and increased voltage to 3.1V. At this speed we were able to hit DDR600 speed at 3-4-4-8, at which point the board became the limiting factor rather than the memory. This makes the Patriot some of the fastest scaling DDR we have ever seen,” OcPrices claims.

Choosing the Best Mainboard for Multi-GPU SLI Setup. NVIDIA nForce4 SLI Roundup: Painful and Rewarding

9:22 am | Yaroslav Lyssenko

AnandTech has posted an article comparing four mainboards with support for dual-GPU technology from NVIDIA Corp. dubbed SLI. The Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, DFI LANParty nF4 SLI-DR, Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI and MSI K8N Neo4/SLI Platinum are all based on NVIDIA nForce4 SLI core-logic, but feature different capabilities, overclocking potential and price. Which one is the best for you – that’s a tough question.

“At stock speeds, there is no clear winner or loser with the four boards in the roundup. All four of them perform very well at stock speeds in both normal and SLI mode and you should choose your board based on features,” claims the web-site

“Based on overclocking abilities, features, and the performance of features present on the boards, we are pleased to award our Editors Choice Gold Award jointly to the DFI nF4 SLI-DR and the MSI K8n Neo4/SLI. Both boards are standouts in a group of standout motherboards,” concludes AnandTech.
