Google Aims to Double Gmail Capacity. Google’s Mail Becomes More Capacious

11:15 pm | Anton Shilov

As some email providers start to offer a bit enlarged storages for email, Gmail want to offer its clients unprecedented large amount of space – 2GB per account and continuously increase it.

“The Mountain View, Calif.-based Web giant on Friday plans to double the free storage on Gmail from 1GB to 2GB, said Georges Harik, Gmail product management director. After that, Google will add a yet-to-be-determined amount of extra storage daily, with no plans to stop,” CNET News.com reports.

At press time Gmail’s capacity was over 1100MB, up from 1000MB earlier.
