3D Professor has taken a look at Gainward PowerPack 2600 GS 6800 Ultra PCI Express graphics card. This high-end graphics card is capable of running in the so-called “enhanced mode” which sets its clock speeds higher than set by default without breaking the warranty. With the help of Gainward’s EXPERTool the GPU is set to operate at 430MHz frequency, while graphics card’s memory is overclocked to 1200MHz. The graphics card was benchmarked on Supermicro X6DAL-TG mainboard with a pair of Intel Xeon processors with Nocona core.

“We have to say though that this combination of the Supermicro X6DAL-TG Xeon mainboard and the Gainward 2600 GS 6800 Ultra PCI Express 256MB consumer graphic card is the *best* combination we have tested. The expansion scope is huge and the vision of capabilities is beyond any comprehension. There have been many cards and boards through here which have yet to meet these fast scores.” claims the author.
