NVIDIA has released yet another high-end graphics processing unit, but at this time for enthusiasts with budget of about $449. The new product appeared to be pretty promising: modern architecture with support for new capabilities and up-to-date feature-set is accompanied by low power consumption and noticeable overclockability, which may help the chip to gain popularity among enthusiasts.

“NVIDIA’s GeForce 7800 GT conquers everything on the market right now, except the GeForce 7800 GTX of course, which makes it pretty obvious selection when choosing between products like the GeForce 6800 Ultra and the RADEON X850 XT PE,” states X-bit labs’ article.

NVIDIA’s GeForce 7800 GT features 20 pixel pipelines, 7 vertex pipelines and in virtually all benchmarks delivers higher speed when compared to the GeForce 6800 Ultra, the former top offering from NVIDIA. Numerous web-sites have reviewed the product and appeared to be pretty impressed.

“Looking back at the performance and image quality we experienced on the BFGTech GeForce 7800 GT OC, we are left with a big smile on our faces. Here is a video card that is $150 cheaper than a GeForce 7800 GTX and, in many games, it can match image quality with its more expensive sibling. In very GPU limited games, you typically just have to set the image quality down one level compared to the GTX. Putting two BFGTech 7800 GT OC video cards in an SLI configuration gives you the performance and image quality that matches two GeForce 7800 GTX in SLI,” summarized [H]ard|OCP web-site.
