Web-Site Releases New CATALYST Drivers Ahead of ATIATI Lets Web-Site to Release New Drivers a Day Aheadby Anton Shilov [ 08/17/2005 | 10:01 AM ] In discordance with its own traditions, ATI Technologies has let DriverHeaven.net web-site to release its latest CATALYST 5.8 drivers ahead of launching them officially at its own web-site. The reasons for the decision are unclear, but the web-site claims that the drivers are legitimate. <%BANNER[article_nw]%>“Thanks to the very cool people in ATI.com they have agreed to let Driverheaven host Catalyst 5.8 CCC before they go live on www.ati.com on Wednesday,” said Allan “Zardon” Campbell, the web-site owner. The latest CATALYST software suite provides support for COPP (Certified Output Protection Protocol) which is available in both Windows XP Service Pack 2 and the latest version of Windows Media Center 2005 (available through Microsoft Windows Update). COPP support will allow users to view high definition analog and digital content (to be released in the future) on select digital and analog displays, indicates documentation supplied by the web-site. The new drivers also correct numerous bugs, in total the list of resolved issues consists of 34 items. |
