News around the WebNVIDIA Talks PureVideo TechnologyInterview with NVIDIA’s Scott Vouri Posted[ 09/01/2005 | 11:17 PM ] Digital Producer has posted an interview with NVIDIA’s Scott Vouri, general manager of multimedia, where he answers questions about NVIDIA PureVideo technology. The feature, which is available on the GeForce 6 and 7 graphics processors, ensures smooth playback of DVD, high definition MPEG-2 and Windows Media Video. <%BANNER[article_nw]%>“Our PureVideo technology is a combination of hardware and software. Each of our graphics processors, including the new GeForce7 contain three separate processing cores inside the GPU that are dedicated to video processing. Then we have a whole host of microcode, drivers and decoders that run on these cores to provide the cleanest, crispest playback possible. We also have high-end video input and output connectivity technologies, such as SDI (Serial Data Interface), so that GeForce-based graphics cards and/or motherboards can display and capture video at the highest levels of signal integrity. All these elements provide home theater quality video,” explains Scott Vouri, NVIDIA’s general manager of multimedia. Discussion |
