Razer Huntsman vs. Huntsman Elite

When you decide that you want to become a PC gamer, once you built the system, you are ready to go.

Getting a comfortable gaming chair or a good screen is important. But it is pretty hard trying to find the best mouse and keyboard that fits your needs when it comes to performance and comfort.

So here is our comparison to 2 of the Huntsman keyboards released in 2018.

Razer Huntsman

The Razer Huntsman is a great full-sized gaming keyboard.

It features unique clicky optical switches that are great to type on and are also very responsive.

It also features full RGB lighting, which is useful when used in dark environments. This board is built nicely, and it has a sleek design.

However, it doesn’t have a wrist rest, so it’s not the most ergonomic keyboard to use during long sessions.

Some might not like the loud sound due to the clicky switches. But overall, it is a good keyboard, and aside from gaming, thanks to the programmable keys it can also be used for programming, video editing, and other demanding workflows.

Razer Huntsman vs. Huntsman Elite Comparison

The biggest difference when you compare the Razer Huntsman vs. Huntsman Elite is the additional features added to the Elite.

The main thing that you will notice is that the Elite has the detachable leatherette wrist rest with RGB lightning witch is attached to the elite keyboard with magnets. The wrist rest is comfortable, and the material is pleasant to touch.

Also, The Huntsman Elite includes a multi-functional digital dial that is located in the top right corner as well as three media keys located next to the dial. The keys can be moved multi-directionally. You can also change the function on the dial and set it to be used for scrolling, changing a weapon in a game or adjusting the volume, etc.

So basically, the Razer Huntsman is a less feature-rich version of the Elite. It doesn’t have the under-glow LED’s the dedicated media controls, and it comes without a wrist rest.

Otherwise, they are very similar, nearly identical, as they both have the same switch options. So because gamers often look for a more affordable Opto-Mechanical keyboard that will give them a great experience, they will most likely choose the less expensive version which is the baseline Huntsman.
